Building temperature and/or faults and repairs
Answer
The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and the associated code of practice states that: ‘During working hours a reasonable internal temperature must be maintained and this must not be less than 16°C’. The University Policy explains how the University will comply with statutory obligations, and the University will endeavour to maintain space temperatures of between 19°C and 20°C in all its non-residential buildings during standard working hours. If there is a room or particular area where you frequently sit and find it cold, we can check the temperature and if it falls below 16°C, details will be passed to colleagues in Estates and Campus Services. |
